Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, an IAS officer of the 1992 batch from Telangana, is a distinguished civil servant with a wealth of academic and professional accomplishments. He holds a Masters in Psychology from Delhi University, an MBA from IIM Calcutta, and a Masters in Public Management from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore. He has also attended specialized courses in policy, globalization, leadership, and sustainability from renowned institutions like Harvard University, London School of Economics, and the University of Birmingham.
Jayesh Ranjan’s illustrious career spans multiple leadership roles, including his current position as the Special Chief Secretary of the Industries & Commerce and Information Technology Departments in Telangana. His efforts focus on policy development, attracting investments, and promoting IT for governance and citizen empowerment. Previously, he served as the Commissioner and MD of the Industries Department, Secretary of Tourism Promotion, and Vice-Chairman of HUDA, among other roles, impacting diverse sectors like Tribal Development, Natural Resource Management, and Poverty Alleviation.
In 2019, he was honored with the Royal Order of the Polar Star by the King of Sweden for promoting Swedish business in India, including IKEA’s first Indian store in Hyderabad. He also supports several social and charitable organizations, working towards the betterment of society.
Dr. V. Kalaiselvan is currently serving as the Secretary-cum-Scientific Director of the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Delhi. Dr. Kalaiselvan has been associated with IPC since 2009, contributing significantly to the domains of pharmacopoeial standards, rational use of medicines, drug safety, and regulatory systems.
He played a key role in the conceptualization and nationwide implementation of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) and the Materiovigilance Programme of India (MvPI), which have strengthened India’s surveillance framework for the safety of medicines and medical devices.
Dr. Kalaiselvan has represented IPC on various national and international platforms, including the World Health Organization (WHO), and continues to contribute to global initiatives for strengthening pharmacovigilance systems in low- and middle-income countries. In recognition of his work, the WHO Headquarters in Geneva acknowledged him as one of the significant contributors to global pharmacovigilance in their 50th Celebratory Album of the International Drug Monitoring Programme.
He has authored 11 chapters and published over 130 research and review articles in national and international journals. He is also a recipient of prestigious fellowships awarded by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
With deep expertise in regulatory science and a forward-looking approach, Dr. Kalaiselvan brings strong leadership to IPC in its mission to ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of medicines in India.
Mr. BhalchandraSinh RaoRane is the Chairman of Federation of Industries of India (FII-TMA) and also the Chairman of Euro India Business Council (EIBC), registered in Netherlands & Germany.
Shri RaoRane is also the Chairman & Managing Director of UCP India – UCP Europe. Federation of Industries of India (FII) is a 60-year-old Industries Association having members from small, medium and large enterprises like Bayer, Raymond, Sanofi, Clariant, United Phosphorous Ltd, etc.
Mr. RaoRane was Chairman for the Golden Jubilee function and, for his special efforts, received gracious appreciation from the Chief Guest, the 11th President of India, Bharat Ratna the late Hon’ble Dr. Abdul Kalam Sahib.
The other technology leaders of our country who regularly grace the Federation are Padma Vibhushan Dr. Mashelkar, Padma Vibhushan Prof. M.M. Sharma, and several other senior corporate leaders.
For his untiring efforts on Manufacturing Self-Reliance & Sustainable Industrial Development, Mr. RaoRane was specially invited by the German Chancellor’s Office for the “Make in India” Hannover Messe event presided over by German Chancellor Madame Merkel and our Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Modi. Shri RaoRane was also personally invited recently by German Chancellor Mr. Scholz’s office.
A few years back, Mr. RaoRane was invited by Italian Prime Minister Dr. Romano Prodi and was an honored guest of the Italian Government during the Indo-Italian Year. Mr. RaoRane was also invited to participate in the European Union (EU)–India Free Trade Agreement deliberations.
Mr. RaoRane is regularly invited at prestigious World Economic Summits in Europe for speaking on international business issues. Shri RaoRane has led major joint ventures & collaborations between large European MNCs and Indian member companies.
EIBC & Federation events are very regularly graced by senior diplomats, ambassadors, consul generals & trade commissioners of all the leading countries to achieve the bilateral trade development objectives. Euro India Business Council (EIBC) and UCP India have been awarded “Special Status” by leading European Governments for the exemplary services rendered to their trade ministries and industrialists.
Mr. RaoRane is a Pharmaceutical Technologist from Mumbai University and has a Management Masters from JBIMS – Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai University. He has worked at all levels, from the shop floor as a Shift Production Officer to the Chief Executive level and also as a Board Director of several multinationals, in just 11 years of his career as an employee. He has been honored with several awards during his career as a professional employee.
Mr. RaoRane promoted UCP India – M/s Urmila Chemopharma (P) Ltd in 1996. UCP India is actively engaged in manufacturing of Speciality Fine Chemicals. The products are 100% exported to European and North-South American countries for the last 20 years. UCP India has been honored with the “Export Excellence Awards” on many occasions for developing businesses in new uncharted territories across the world.
UCP Europe was promoted in 2005 in The Netherlands. UCP Europe specializes in supporting European manufacturers of high-tech products from the Nanotechnology, Robotics, New Generation Pharmaceuticals & allied sectors.
Social Profile:
Mr. RaoRane & family are actively involved in supporting educational facilities in remote and interior locations. The family is very closely involved in sustainable operations at a global level.
Son, SangramSinh, is currently with the United Nations Secretary General’s Office at Geneva Headquarters as part of the “Global Crisis Management Group” handling sensitive crisis situations arising out of the Russia–Ukraine War. Prior to his current role, SangramSinh was handling the SDGs – Sustainable Development Goals in the UNSG’s office at the UN HQ in Manhattan, New York. He did his Management Masters from London School of Economics (LSE) & Engineering from Netherlands.
Daughter, Shourya, is currently Global Sustainability Lead of Heineken Group. She has done her Management Masters from LBS – London Business School and her Bachelors in International Management from RSM – Rotterdam School of Management.
Wife, Mrs. Sonaldevi, is the President of UCP India – UCP Europe & is actively involved in the RaoRane Foundation’s charitable activities.
